Tropikote High Copper Antifouling Paint – Black

Tropikote is Sea Hawk’s top-of-the-line traditional hard antifouling paint – containing over 75% cuprous oxide. This multi-season bottom paint aggressively combats ALL types of fouling and reduces hull maintenance with year-round, trouble-free performance.

Its superior adhesion to fiberglass, wood and steel hulls makes it ideal for any vessel.

It can be applied over other bottom paints without the fear of lifting the underlying coatings.

• Highest quality grade of cuprous oxide available (more potent active ingredient)

• Highest copper content in the industry (75.8%)

• Not for use on aluminum hulls or outdrives

• Better color consistency for color matching

• Suitable for fast or slow moving vessels

• Scrubbable without removing paint

• Consistent viscosity – better flow and rolling ability

• May be applied over other modified epoxy antifoulants

• Apply by brush, roller (3/8″ nap, solvent resistant), or conventional or airless spray

• Cleaner, and thinner for brush or spray: Seahawk 2033 Reducer

• Theoretical coverage is 320 ft²/gallon; 2 coats recommended, 3 at waterline and other high wear areas; 60% solids (by vol.)

Note – If the vessel is launched, and then rehauled, air exposure should be limited to 72 hours.

If out of the water longer than 72 hours, Tropikote will oxidize and lose its antifouling effectiveness. Therefore, an additional coat of Tropikote is recommended after 72 hours of air exposure from haul out time.

When overcoating a previously painted hull, refer to the Compatibility Chart image in this entry.
